Promenage Ravel - Ligne 38

This ancient railway line, closed permanently to trains in 1957, is a remarkable place for walking in Herve.

The roughly 7km stretch that runs through Thimister-Clermont is one of the most beautiful. This section has never been concreted over; it mixes the special charm of the countryside, ravines and green areas, with high points where you get views of the Herve plateau farmland.

On leaving the Battice fort, you can admire the green valleys below, crossing over the new footbridge, before entering Thimister village. After passing behind the old station, walkers step foot on to rurul paths where you will be able to see the Aguesse bridge. Crossing over it, you will end up at Clermont-sur-Berwinne, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia.

Continuing on the 38 line, you will then pass by the area called "Blockhouse" before arriving at Froidthier and more importantly at Chaumont where you will cross a bridge of the same name restored to its former glory. The 38 line does not stop here, and if you feel like it, you can keep following it all the way to Aubel.
