Remember Museum

On the 12 June 1994, Bennie Zuskin, a veteran American soldier of the 1st division, cut the inaugural ribbon to the Remember Museum 39-45.

As its name indicates, the museum, initiated by Marcel and Mathilde Schmets, is a place of remembrance. It was set up in an old farm and is mostly made up of objects left behind by the 110 soldiers of the American 1st Infantary Division staying at Mr Schmetz senior's farm and of souvenirs donated by the veterans.

The museum is small, but large in terms of the welcome it gives, its uniquess and simplicity. The Remember Museum acts like a witness to our gratitude towards the GIs who gave us freedom by risking their lives.
